How to Create DBaaS Policy

To create a DBaaS policy in HawkShield, follow these steps:

Step 1: Fill Policy Details Enter the Policy Name and a brief Description. Choose the Severity Level (Low, Medium, High, Critical), select DB as the Policy Type, and click Next.

Step 2: Define Match Criteria

  • Choose the appropriate DB Connector from the dropdown.

  • Select either Entities or Compliance and fill in the required fields.

  • Click “Next”

Optional Feature:Use the Custom Query Builder for creating SQL queries effortlessly. Select from Schema, Table, and Show Box, and click Build Custom Query to generate a query.

Step 4: Assign User Select individual users or departments from the displayed list. To apply the policy to all users, check the box next to ‘Username’. Click Next to continue.

Step 5: Configure Notification Alerts

  • Provide the Admin Email Address for notifications

  • Select the preferred notification channel.

  • Enable ‘Notify Owner’ to inform the resource owners with a message template.

  • Use the Unified Notification System to set notification timing (immediate or end-of-day).

  • Click “Next”

Step 6: Review and Save the Policy Check all the policy details. Once everything is correct, press ‘Save & Finish’.

A confirmation message will appear, indicating the policy has been successfully created.
